You ARE Stronger than You Think you are

The honey bee’s wings stroke incredibly fast, about 200 beats per second, thus making their famous, distinctive buzz. A honey bee can fly for up to six miles, and as fast as 15 miles per hour.
Fascinating little insect really.
I was sitting in the garden this morning, (I’m actually back in the garden now, doing this blog at the garden table, under a mahoosive umbrella, the weather is just perfect today. Sunny, bit cloudy and a lovely breeze to top it off) watching with great interest, the constant activity of these little garden friendlies…they NEVER stop.
What I find fascinating is that when their pollen baskets are full….they reverse out of the flower…then…..DROP….
…watching one this morning, I thought it was going to hit the deck…but then, all of a sudden….it was up, up and away….how on earth do these little insects manage to carry so much…YET FLY!!!???
(Of course I got the camera out, but by the time it was set up the bee had already been and gone. So I resorted to patience and my mobile phone camera for the next visit and just snapped away…..I got some brilliant shots and was tempted to share them all, but widdled them down to the following):
INCOMING…………….it is so amazing how they know exactly where to land……

Note the pollen baskets on its little legs…….

Now this blog is NOT all about these amazing little insects it’s about how I got to blog on this topic today in the first place.

Gary and I were sitting in the garden with a cup of tea. He was fixing his multi-tool strimmer and I was, just chilling. Then the sound of silence was broken by someone strimming in a garden and the community centre, 3 houses down, bursting into song…

I did not recognise the first couple of songs, but then they started singing …..

‘Open the Eyes of My Heart ‘

And at the minute the song started, our little resident bee arrived with its baskets laden with fresh harvesting…

It was as if something in my head said….look, listen, take note….

So I did.

At first I did not really understand what I was supposed to be looking at or watching out for…..then it hit me….

The weight these little insects carry, nearly crash-land, YET still manage to fly….They carry their daily harvest, no matter the weight…and return home, safe and sound with their treasure safely in their baskets….

Now WTF has that got to do with us, you may be thinking…..yes think about it..think hard….

What does the bee and its load have to do with a person??

This tiny insect goes about its daily activity, never complaining, just getting on with its share of helping its community survive. We on the other hand do nothing but moan, complain, find fault, criticize and live self-centred lives…

This little insect, carries the ‘burden’ well double the ‘burden’ considering it carries a harvest on both legs….YET…flies….no matter how heavy the load…they STILL FLY…

So what is stopping us from flying high no matter the burden we bear??

Why can we not be like a bee?? Pick up a load of supplies in our pollen baskets, struggling with the weight on the way home, off load it and crack on with the next adventure???

We can learn soooooooo much from nature……Just take the time out to sit and watch in AMUSEMENT how wonderful nature is and what precious lessons we can learn from it…not to mention the encouragement and inspiration little things can give us and TEACH us…..

LOOK not just SEE..

LISTEN not just HEAR

AND ENJOY….not just take for granted.

We are stronger than we think and realise we are…..

So when you are down and out and doubt…..and feel you’re at the end of your tether

……Watch a bee……they Carry Heavy Loads, still FLY and NEVER give up ……

‘Open the eyes of my heart Lord… I may see things in a different light…….
